Meet our Pastors

Pastors Brandon and Marlana began serving at Northwoods Life Church on November 1st, 2022. They come with 15+ years of ministry experience, including youth ministry and church planting. Their heart is to see families find Jesus and to lead by example of what it means to live out the calling in your life.

Our mission is to encounter God, discover community, live generously, know your purpose, and go.

Our Beliefs

Northwoods Life, while the Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. The following statements are a reflection of our fundamental teachings.

BIBLE

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, total authority and rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:15-171 Thessalonians 2:132 Peter 1:21)

GOD

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Deut. 6:4 | Isa. 43:10,11Matt. 28:19 | Luke 3:22)

JESUS

"Lord Jesus Christ," is His proper name. It is never applied in the New Testament, either to the Father or to the Holy Spirit. It therefore belongs exclusively to the Son of God.

(Romans 1:1-3,72 John 3)

Jesus is the only Begotten of the Father, He is therefore, acknowledged to be both God and man and is "Immanuel," God with us.

(Matthew 1:21-23John 4:2 | 1 John 4:101 John 4:14Revelation 1:13Revelation 1:17)

HOLY SPIRIT

All believers are entitled to and should eagerly expect and seek the promise of God the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The early church knew and the Bible is our evidence that these gifts and power were used in the work of the ministry.

(Luke 24:49 |Acts 1:4 |Acts 1:8 |1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking in other languages(or tongues) as the Spirit of God gives them the ability(or utterance). The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but is different in purpose and use.

(Acts 2:41 Corinthians 12:4-101 Corinthians 12:28)

SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is removing evil from our lives, and instead dedicating ourselves fullly to God.

(Romans 12:1,21 Thessalonians 5:23Hebrews 13:12)

The Scriptures teaches us to pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord

(Hebrews 12:14)

The power of the Holy Spirit equips us to able to obey the command: "Be holy, because I am holy." Sanctification is realizing and understanding, that as with Christ in His death and resurrection, so we need to die to what our flesh(our natural desires) and be re-born (a new creation) in a Holy Spirit-lead life.

(Romans 6:1-11Romans 6:13Romans 8:1,2Romans 8:13Galatians 2:20Philippians 2:12,131 Peter 1:5)
